L’Hermenault is only 5 minutes away and has a bakery, butcher, hairdresser, grocery shop, bank, post office, pharmacy.

Situated in a small farming commune but not far from Fontenay Le Comte, Vouvant, Mervent and 1 hour away from the Vendée’s long, sandy beaches offer sailing, surfing, swimming and fishing.With the comforting undulations of its dunes of near-white sand, and the untamed assertiveness of its rocky escarpments beaten by the winds and waves of the Atlantic Ocean, the coastline of the Vendée stretches for 250 km, of which 140 km are beaches of fine sand. La Rochelle, only 45 min drive away, is a very attractive port with waterside cafés and restaurants offering relaxing breaks with Europe’s largest Aquarium which is open every day, Museums, and a daily fish market.Venise Vert is a canal system very famous in the Vendée area. Puy de Fou is a theme park which includes medieval jousting, crafts and actors in period costume. This is very popular and tickets should be pre-booked. The château of Terre-Neuve is perfectly situated in Fontenay Le Comte.
